Unexpected experiences

Sometimes travelers can have some unexpected experiences during the trips, which train the travelers to be more flexible.

The air-conditioning of our train carriage is not working. 2.5- hour train from Bratislava to Budapest becomes an unforgettable memory. It's really stuffed and hot. Some passengers complain, and some move to the bike area where some cool air comes from another carriage. The train conductor give us a bottle of water for compensation I guess.

Finally, we arrive in Budapest. Our apartment is really cozy and clean; most importantly, it is equipped with air conditioners, which is wonderful news to us in summer.

The Hungarian food we try is really salty. We feel so thirsty all night, and decide to have hamburgers in the following day.

We thought we could eat out every day in Budapest, but the salty food makes us hesitate, and cook by ourselves instead.

2-day trip in Bratislava, Slovakia (斯洛伐克)

We stay in Bratislava, Slovakia for 2 whole days.

We pass by Grassalkovich Palace and St. Parish Church Jan of Matha (Trojička). Then we go into the Old town.

After entering Michael's Gate, it's the Old town. In Bratislava, I like the old town the most. Shops, bars, and restaurants are everywhere.

Below is the famous statue "man at work" in the old town.

Bratislava Castle is also in this area. When we arrive at the castle, some boy scouts are singing some solemn songs. I feel emotional when hearing songs like those.

It's very comfortable to walk at the castle in the evening.

Another place we visit is the Danube riverside. It's heard that Danube River turns blue sometimes, but we do not see the blue river this time.

But we do see a blue church nearby. It's the Church of St. Elizabeth.

Actually, I don't have strong feelings about Bratislava. I meet nicer people in other countries, and I feel more comfortable with them.

Trebic, Czech Republic for 3 days (捷克 特熱比奇)

We stay in Trebic for 3 nights, which is quite abnormal for visitors since most visitors explore this place for a half day.
But I really think it's great to have more time to discover this tranquil town.

Trebic is so quiet and so peaceful. You don't see many people on the street. Maybe it's the weekend, so most stores are closed, which makes the town quieter and emptier.

After taking some stairs, and passing the woods, we come to the park on the hill.

The views looking from the hill are beautiful. Red-roofed houses, a clock tower, and a river make a beautiful picture.

Some rock remains can be seen at the park.

I imagine how the inhabitants get fun here, what kinds of life they have... Their life is totally different from mine. Where I am from is a busy city full of activities. If the place you are from does not have much to do, what could you do in your tree time?

This is Jewish Cemetery, which was listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. I know "they" don't like to be disturbed, so I don't take any pics inside it.
When you are at the cemetery, you try to keep silent, which calms you down.

Just coming out from Jewish Cemetery, we visit St. Procopius Basilica. Iterestingly, we happen to see wedding going on at the church.

When I was young, I thought life was long. Days pass, years pass, decades pass... Now I am in my middle age, and realize life is not long. Time becomes precious because it cannot be reversed.
Someday I will disappear, and I hope I can be gone without regrets, or, at least, few regrets.

Sitting by the river is very comfortable. The breeze blows on my face. Ducks swim in the river. In front of me are the beautiful houses with red roofs.
Kids have fun at the playground just right behind me.

It's funny that I flied from Asia to Europe for long hours. Now I am at this little peaceful town, and know clearly that I'll probably not come back again. But it's still amazing that I have the chance to visit Trebic.

3 days in Telc, Czech Republic (泰爾奇3天)

Telc is famous for its colorful houses. It becomes world historical heritage site since 1992.

Below are statues at the square.

Houses with different colors:

This tall clock tower is a great spot to look over the views, but, unfortunately, iron bars outside the windows interfere with pictures taking.

A very old church is beneath the tower. The ancient organ is old and pretty.

It's also wonderful to take a stroll  and get lost.

One more place that kids love very much is the nearby camping site. You can have a nice meal and go swimming at the same spot.

We love most  is staying at the river side, chatting, laughing, and doing nothing. The breeze makes people forget the summer  heat. The reflections of the houses and trees are beautiful.

Budapest, Hungary: part 2 (匈牙利 布達佩斯 之2)

St. Stephen's Basilica is a very impressive Catholic church. You go in, then you will know. It's hard to describe its beauty. I g...
